Hey Nerds,
“War is what happens when language fails.”
Margaret Atwood
Presently I’m writing to you from the comfort of my house in Fort Worth–sitting at a desk with multiple computers and monitors, portable space heaters running to keep my legs warm, and a bustling neighborhood going about its business on a late Friday afternoon/early evening.
I am fully aware that war is not impacting my daily life. My groceries were delivered this morning to my house. If needed, I can go fuel up my car with no worry of rationing. Loved ones need only worry about weekly tornado siren tests and not sirens indicating we should take cover.
But here we are, a world with war raging. A world where instead of rallying against a despot looking to turn back time and roll back freedoms, we point fingers and pass blame. A world where we attack others because they are different and instead of looking inwards to deal with why difference makes us uncomfortable we opt for the easy way out by putting others down.
War is raging. I am raging and fearful and heartbroken.
I’m keeping this one short. If you are wondering how you can help Ukraine right now, consider checking out one of these resources and donating:
Pray for Ukraine. Pray for a quick resolution and that those responsible are held accountable. And if you’re not the praying type, then send vengeful vibes out into the universe.
